Describe the mission of your organization.
ALR-TV IDAHO was formed by combining all of the Legion Posts in the Treasure Valley. This was due to some Posts having a charter, but not enough riders in that Post or a Post not having a charter at all. It was important that we still individually belong to and represent our own Posts so that we can all take part in and support Post events and Post members who are not riders.
American Legion Riders is a program of the American Legion. We are a family of motorcycle enthusiasts who are passionate about supporting our Veterans.
Treasure Valley Riders support the Legion in whatever capacity we can. Whether participating in Honor Missions, Memorial Escorts, parades, volunteering at VA home events, supporting other Veteran rides and events, birthday ride bys, tributes, holiday and emergency support to Veterans and enlisted families.
"Presented annually to a legionnaire within this Department who exemplifies those characteristics of loyalty, dedication and service to this organization and its members, as our comrade in whose honor this award is made."
The American Legion is built on a promise from men and women who swore with their lives to defend and protect the United States through military service. The promise begins at enlistment, grows through training and discipline in the U.S. Armed Forces and continues after discharge, as veterans in service to community, state and nation.

The promise begins at enlistment, grows through training and discipline in the U.S. Armed Forces and continues after discharge, as veterans in service to community, state and nation.
In times of crisis, The American Legion steps into the turmoil and fights to provide needed assistance for others.
Young people who seek positive opportunities turn to The American Legion, which has mentored generations into responsible citizens.
Veterans in need of advocates to help them achieve meaningful careers, educations, health-care services, friends and stable homes are supported every day, free of charge, by The American Legion.
Active-duty, National Guard and Reserve personnel have dedicated supporters in The American Legion. A strong and well-resourced national defense is, and has always been, a central purpose of the organization. As former troops, Legionnaires understand the importance of home-front support.

SAL members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. Members of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion comprise the Legion Family, which has a combined membership of nearly 3 million.
Although SAL has its own membership, the organization is not a separate entity. Rather, SAL is a program of The American Legion. Many Legionnaires hold dual membership in SAL.
